Open Spaces is Kansas City's debut onto the 21st century world stage of culture, mixed-media installation and cutting-edge performance. Bringing more than a hundred renowned visual and performing artists together over the course of two months, Open Spaces celebrates the artistic wonder in K.C.'s most iconic areas. We're putting the world on notice that Kansas City is the center for artistic excellence.
Taking place August 25 - October 28, 2018, Open Spaces is an outdoor-indoor contemporary art exhibition located throughout the Kansas City landscape. The sixty-two day exhibition will showcase one of a kind works created by International, National and local artists.
Throughout the run of Open Spaces, weekend performances by eminent performing artists take place on a Swope Park pop-up village and stage. Local makers and culinary artisans are also featured.
Mark your calendars for October 12-14, 2018 when The Village will undergo several enhancements and heightened programming to include multiple performances of all types. Performances will include national and local talent."
